Blepharoplasty / Eyelid Surgery

Live looks, a young and fresh look or swollen, tired eyes and an old-looking facial expression. Eyes and eyebrows are the most important organs that affect your facial expression. The first signs of ageing appear in these parts of the body both because of their delicate structure and because they are the most exposed body parts to environmental factors such as the sun. If a person has swollen and sagging eyelids even after a good sleep, if his/her vision is affected by the sagging of the eyelids and the under-eye bags in the lower eyelids make him/her look older than he/she is, then such person is a good candidate for this surgery.

Eyelid surgery is a surgical procedure in which excess skin, subcutaneous fat and muscle tissue are removed according to the needs of the patient. While upper eyelid operations can be performed under local anaesthesia, general anaesthesia is usually required for lower eyelid operations. Stitches are removed on the 4th or the 5th day. Although it varies from person to person, bruising and swelling around the eyes are considered normal. The bruises usually disappear within a week, but oedema may continue to exist a little longer.

This operation is not suitable for wrinkles on the outside of the eyes called crow's feet and bruises around the eyes. For such complaints, filling and botox applications or vitamin vaccines are frequently used either alone or in combination with surgery to obtain young and live looks.
