Liposuction

Liposuction

This surgery, which is called liposuction, liposculpture, lipoplasty, liposhaping, etc., is the procedure of removing the fat that is settled in certain parts of the body and that cannot be destroyed by diet and exercise and also shaping the body. It should be noted that the application is actually a “surgery” and it should never be underestimated. Another issue that needs to be emphasized is that the liposuction procedure is not weight loss surgery.

During this operation, the fat accumulated under the skin is absorbed using a tool called cannula and through vacuuming. In parallel with the development of technology, various liposuction methods have been developed.

Classic liposuction: It is the process of removing fat tissue with a cannula.

VASER liposuction: It is the process of removing fat tissue with sound waves.

LASER liposuction: It is the process of disintegrating and removing fat tissue with laser energy.

Infrasonic liposuction: It is the process of removing fat tissue through vibration.

Any of these methods may be preferred according to the needs of the patient. These operations are performed under general anaesthesia and the duration of hospital stay after surgery is usually 24 hours. Patients can usually return to their work and social life within 5 to 7 days. Special corsets that cover the surgical areas should be used for 4 to 6 weeks. Patients can only do light exercises such as walking until the sixth week after surgery. After the sixth week, all kinds of exercises are allowed.
